Methodological Framework in Islamisation of Knowledge: A Discourse Analysis

One of the contemporary challenges to Islamic thought is the challenge of reform in education in Muslim lands. Much has been said about the importance and the need for reforms in education in an Islamic paradigm specifically for Muslim societies. In the recent past, one such kind of endeavor was the Islamization of Knowledge. According to Ismā‘il Rajī Al-Fārūqī, the Islamization of knowledge aims to recast the entire heritage of human knowledge from an Islamic standpoint. However, different scholars suggested, that many of them adopted a variety of approaches and different methodologies to Islamize the knowledge. This article explores the work plan recommended by Ismā‘il Rajī Al-Fārūqī, along with the modifications made by Abdul Hamīd Abū Sulaymān in the same comparison with the other approaches.
