Overview of Technical Endeavors of Quranic Coherence in Tafsir “Jawahir al Quran”

Abstract

A Large number of Tafaseer (Exegeses) have been compiled in SubContinent under many trends of Tafaaseer.One of these trends is according to Coherence (Rabt) of Quraan. Many nterpreters (Mufassareen) also compiled their Tafaseer with the preference Of Rabat-O-Nezam (Coherence). One of them was Molana Ghulam Ullah Khan who was the representative of famous Maktab E Tafseer, Hussain Ali Alwani, with coherence. He compiled Tafseer Jawahir Ul Qur'an which is not only the collection of the references of basic Tafaaseer but also a great source of Rabt-O-Nazm-E-Quran. In fact, this Tafseer is compiled on the bases of Tafseer 'Bulghat Ul Hairaan' written by his Shaikh and teacher 'Molana Hussain Ali Alwani 'of Mianwali, who was considered a great mufassir (Interpreter of Qur'an) of Subcontinent. In order to explain The Quranic verses with coherence, Molana Ghulam Ullah Khan used various techniques ,ways and aspects like: The coherence Of surah with surah by their names and by their meanings, The coherent summaries of surahs, coherence of verses with verses,The use of many specific and unique terminologies to connect the topics and verses of Qur'an and interpretation of Qur'an according to the context. This work in Tafseer proved very useful not only in relateing and connecting the verses but also in understanding The Qur'an easily. This Tafseer and its methodology is considered very useful in urdu to understand Qur'an and can be used as a model and example for working on Rabt O Nazm-E-Qur'an also. In this article besides introducing this interpretation and its interpreter all the techniques and aspects have been discussed that are used uniquely by the interpreter of Jawahir Ul Qur'an to create coherence in Quranic meanings so that these can be followed for this purpose as a good model.
